Debbie heads up a team of experts at Atlantis Health UK applying a behavioural lens and health psychological expertise to develop and build solutions for our clients. She joined Atlantis following a 25-year career in academia where she led major research projects in collaboration with the NHS, industry and international partners aimed at improving the self-management of long-term physical health conditions. She has worked in a range of disease areas including diabetes, prostate cancer, multiple sclerosis, and rare diseases. She has authored over eighty publications in this field. She has expertise in digital self-management interventions and co-design. She has helped develop and evaluate self-management programmes which have subsequently become part of routine patient care.

John is Professor of Psychology as applied to Medicines, at the Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, King's College London. He is recognized as one of the founders of modern health psychology and his main research areas are cognition and health, communication and decision-making in healthcare, and self-regulation & self-management in chronic illness. His ongoing research has strongly informed the content and development of Atlantis Health’s patient support programs, ensuring that these are based on an up-to-date and evidence-based foundation. Professor Weinman is the author of many books and papers in peer review journals and he has helped develop a number of standardised measures of illness perceptions and treatment beliefs. These have been used widely in studies of illness adjustment and treatment adherence across a wide range of health problems in many countries.
